P-9 schools provide schooling from Prep (Foundation) through to Year 9. The P-9 model was established for a smooth transition into the early years of secondary schooling without changing schools. This model is different to the model used mostly across the state being P-6, 7-12 or P-12.
As you are likely aware there are a number of P-9 schools across the south-west of Melbourne which include:

- Baden Powell P-9 College
- Carranballac P-9 College
- Dohertys Creek P-9 College
- Featherbrook P-9 College
- Point Cook P-9 College
- Tarneit P-9 College
- Truganina P-9 College
- Saltwater P-9 College
- Yurran P–9 College
We understand many in our community (teachers, parents, students and members of the community) have raised questions and concerns around this model, including that they/their child are having multiple transitions related to zoning for P-6, P-9, and 7-12 schools.
We are seeking your feedback via a brief survey below on the P-9 school model. We will be using this information to inform the Department of Education. Thank you for your views, as they help to shape our community and our great schools.
This survey is not about your school, or the school in your community, where we have great teachers, learning staff and leaders, but about the model itself, and whether the P-9 model works for our community.
