APPLICATION: Fundraise at the Hollywood Theatre

The Hollywood Theatre offers nine (9) opportunities throughout the calendar year for select non-profit organizations to host fundraising screenings.

Applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis (tentative review dates are March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 30).

These opportunities are limited, and we cannot guarantee access to every organization that applies.

If selected, we cannot guarantee a specific date for your fundraiser.  We prefer to work with approximately 6 months lead time from the date of application approval to the date of your event.

Film titles must be vetted and approved by Hollywood Theatre programming staff and are conditional to rights and availability.

Should you apply, you’ll hear back from us within 2 weeks of the end of the quarter in which you applied.

Approximately when would you like to hold your event? Please note that the most competitive applications will be flexible on dates and will be open to weekend matinee time slots.  *
Please choose 3 films you’d like to show, ranked in order of preference. As a tip, time-honored and well-known narrative films that are a few decades past their initial release date—and not widely available on streaming services—are more likely to draw a crowd and generate more proceeds (and if you’re not sure what films, we’d be happy to help you select an appropriate title).

Please provide any additional event details and run of show - include guest speakers, introductions, panel discussions, lobby tabling, etc. Not all Community Benefit Screenings need to be, but what might make your event unique?

The Fine Print
The Hollywood Theatre reserves final approval over ticket prices. Licensing fees for film rights are typically paid to film studios as a percentage of ticket sales. Thus, setting a high ticket price might drastically increase the cost of licensing the film. Occasionally studios will take a flat fee, but this will have to be negotiated on a per film basis.

The Hollywood Theatre cannot always guarantee that our largest theater space will be available for your fundraiser.  The Hollywood Theatre reserves the right to host your fundraiser in any one of our three theater spaces based on availability and programming concerns.

As a historical building, the Hollywood Theatre is limited in its ability to meet ADA requirements, though we remain committed to servicing patrons with mobility issues whenever possible. While our ground-level auditorium is wheelchair-accessible, our two upstairs auditoriums are not.  If there is an accessibility concern for your fundraiser, with adequate notice, we can modify film scheduling to accommodate access.

All event promotion must acknowledge the Hollywood Theatre.

The Hollywood Theatre reserves the right to cancel or reschedule screenings for any reason. Events may be moved to a smaller upstairs auditorium if advance ticket sales are low.

Live music or other performance can be disruptive to other events and therefore requires special approval.
