The Freedom for Palestinian Political Prisoners campaign is compiling 10,000 letters--one for each of the the nearly 10,000 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons.
Israel is executing a genocide against Palestinian prisoners. Israel systematically starves, tortures, sexually abuses, and denies necessities such as medical treatment and legal counsel to Palestinian prisoners. Over 110 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli prisons since October 2023, making it the deadliest period in history for Palestinians in Israeli prisons. To further torment prisoners and their families, Israel has created a total information blackout by preventing prisoners from seeing or speaking to their families or meeting with any official oversight bodies--effectively isolating them from the outside world. As the Zionist entity moves forward in legalizing the execution of prisoners, it is clear that they are not only using prisons as an instrument of control to instill fear in the collective Palestinian psyche — they are turning prisons into specialized death camps as a form of collective punishment to deter resistance against the brutal occupation.
During a recent visit with his lawyer, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, who was abducted from Gaza in December 2024 and has been subjected to severe torture in Israel's dungeons, asked "Does anyone still remember me?".
We call on all people of conscience to write these letters to show solidarity with Palestinian political prisoners and their loved ones, and to assert that we have not and will never forget Palestinian prisoners. Each letter represents the people’s boundless solidarity with Palestinian prisoners and their families and reaffirms our commitment to carry forward their struggle for liberation. Each letter is a pledge that we will never abandon the prisoners who bear the brunt of Zionist brutality and who remain steadfast in the face of Israel's genocide against them.
