IDEA: Forget what you've heard: the Bay Area hates change and will lose the tech industry because of it.
INSTIGATOR: Conor Dougherty is a technology correspondent at The New York Times, focusing on coverage of Google and the mobile Internet. He is based in San Francisco. Before joining The Times in August 2014, Conor was an economics and housing reporter at The Wall Street Journal, where he wrote about the Great Recession and housing bust. He graduated from University of California, San Diego, with a degree in chemistry.
BASES, in collaboration with XFund, is piloting "Experiment Teas," a series of speaker events, at Stanford. The goal is to allow students to engage in intimate conversation regarding a bold topic with a prominent guest speaker in a small-group setting.
Attendance is capped at 30 students. All conversations are off-the-record.
