Join us at the Perdue Rescue Trial Convergence to support the Right to Rescue and stand against the repression of compassionate animal rescuers. In the Perdue Rescue Trial, animal cruelty investigator and animal rescuer, Zoe Rosenberg, is facing 1 felony, 4 misdemeanors, and the possibility of more than 5 years in prison for rescuing 4 chickens, Poppy, Aster, Ivy & Azalea, from Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry slaughterhouse. Through the trial convergence we're not only providing moral support for Zoe, we're also supporting the Right to Rescue and showing those in power that the people support animal rescuers and the chickens who are being criminally abused by Perdue's Petaluma Poultry. We will continue to rise in the face of this repression.
The trial is scheduled to start Friday, May 16th at the Superior Court of California (600 Administration Dr, Santa Rosa) and is estimated to be 2-3 weeks long. You're welcome to attend just one day or the entire trial. Some things to consider if you’re only coming for a short time: the first day, Friday May 16th will be good to show the press that we have a lot of support, there will be no court over the weekend so court will resume Monday May 19th. Our best guess is that the first few days may be dedicated to jury selection so the testimonies and juicier parts of the court hearing process will likely happen later in the first week and during the second week of trial.
In our experience, court dates often get changed, even within a week of trial. At this time, we do not recommend you book any travel or housing arrangements that are not refundable.
