Join us for a step-by-step exploration of starting your own food business. This five-week course will prepare you for the challenges of bringing a new food product to market. We'll help you avoid the common mistakes and prepare you to launch a successful food business.
This course is designed for North Carolina entrepreneurs creating a consumer packaged good (CPG). This is a product that you might find in a retail store (for example, bottled drinks, pickles, jams, sauces, and baked goods). This course is NOT designed for entrepreneurs starting a food truck, a catering operation, or a restaurant.
This course will be most helpful to those that are just planning their new product.
We’ll cover:
- Basics of Starting a Food Business
- Developing Your Product and Understanding the Regulations
- Packaging and Labeling Requirements
- Selling Your Product and Making a Profit
- Preparing for Your Inspection and Your First Sales
One-on-One Consulting: At the end of the course you’ll receive a 50-minute session with an instructor to get personal insight on your product.
This course cost is $295. The class size is limited to 15 and is first come, first served.
The course consists of five classes, one each week from 12 noon to 1:30pm, 1 ½ hours in length and are conducted over Zoom.
