Join us for the unveiling of the Yesáh Art Monument, a cultural and experiential language monument that honors our ancestors and strengthens community ties.

🕚 PUBLIC PORTION - All Are Welcome including media!: 12:15 PM - 2:00 PM
📍 Location: The Saponi Town Representation Site (adjacent to Fort Christanna)

Event Agenda:

  • 11:00-11:45am: Yesáh Community + Family ONLY Unveiling. This time is reserved for community members only. No waiting in cars or onlooking. Please do not arrive before 11:45am. Thank you in advance for your respectful engagement.)
  • 11:45am-12:15pm: Transition Time
  • 12:15-12:45pm: Public Unveiling
  • 12:45pm-2:00pm: Lunch and Partner/Donor Engagements. Interact with our partners and donors, including digital mapping and language projects.

This special event will feature a community-only ceremonial unveiling, a public presentation, and community activities including a catered lunch, tabling, and digital monument mapping.

Attendees will include Yesáh community members, tribal leadership, partners, donors, local officials, local community members, and media. We invite you to witness this historic moment in reclaiming space, preserving our cultural identity, and advocating for visibility!

This is an outdoor event, and the weather is expected to reach a high of 63°F. In case of unfavorable weather, the rain date is Sunday 3/23/25. Please dress appropriately for sun, heat, or light rain.
