Dear Parents/caregivers and whānau,
As part of our Communities unit, Te Hēnui have been looking into traditional Māori life and how it has changed over time.
Our Year 8’s will be staying overnight at Owae Marae on Thursday 2 May, where they will prepare and cook a hangi for our Year 7 students who will be welcomed onto the Marae the following day.
There will be a timetable with more information to come over the next few days.
To ensure the success of this awesome learning opportunity - We are appealing to you for any donations of meat or vegetables such as kumara, potatoes, pumpkin, chicken, pork etc. for the hangi.
We are also after a whairkōrero and a karanga for the pōwhiri.
If you have any connections to the marae and/or tools needed for the hangi preparation, please email Erin Yandle at email@example.com.
Please fill this form in by Friday 22nd March 2019.
