Welcome to Mariposa! We are so excited to share our home with you! This form includes important information about visiting Mariposa (relevant for both individuals & those visiting as part of a group or hosting a formal retreat). Please read it through & reach out to raynagracemariposa@gmail.com with any questions.
LOCATION:The Mariposa Institute is located on 115 acres of unceded Northern Pomo land, colonially known as Ukiah, CA. Our address is 3801 Low Gap Road, Ukiah CA, 95482.
GETTING HERE:
Mariposa is accessible by car; out of respect for the land & our parking capacity we encourage ride-sharing wherever possible. Mariposa is not directly accessible by public transportation, though there are buses to/ from downtown Ukiah from many major cities. If you require transport from the bus station to Mariposa, please be sure to communicate that well in advance of your arrival. While we cannot guarantee that someone will be available, we will make every effort to get you here!
ACCESS INFORMATION:
Our grounds are rugged lush & wild. We are currently in the process of working towards increased accessibility. Currently, all main retreat spaces are accessible by car, with a short walk on unpaved roads door to door. Some paths are grassy, some are dusty/rocky. Rides can be provided to/from spaces within the retreat center. The insides of our main retreat spaces/bathrooms are currently accessible to community members who use walkers, canes & some scooters, as well as community members who walk without assistance. If you are a scooter user & are curious if this space could work for you, please reach out to raynagracemariposa@gmail.com. We are eager to be in conversation with you!
LODGING:
INDOOR ACCOMMODATIONS: Our dorms offer approximately 18 beds (most of which are bunk beds) as well as room on the floor for those who are able to sleep on mats. Sheets are provided; guests are asked to bring pillows & blankets/ sleeping bags.
