The standard rate you would otherwise be paying is: between R8,900 - R9,800 which includes a R2,500 non-refundable registration fee per traverse. Transport to and from the mountains costs us R550 each way per person, you may not be able to afford this, nor are you expected to if applying for support, however please indicate what you are able to contribute above the set R1,600 for the sponsored place as a show of your commitment and willingness. This sponsored place is made possible through other hikers making an additional donation. Their generosity makes your place possible.

Preparation Hike
Please indicate which preparation hike you wish to attend, to get some training in and to learn more about what it takes to hike on the Rim of Africa.

These weekend hikes are essential to help you prepare for the technical and off-path nature of the Rim of Africa. If you have never hiked with us before you need to join at least one preparation hike.  These weekends require car-pooling, own transport and food and gear. We supply tents at R240 for the weekend (limited tents available).
