The Board generally meets once a month for a meeting. Board members take turns attending monthly staff meetings and give a report at the following Board meeting. There are also times when a board member will form a temporary special committee or take on special projects ranging from an additional 1-5 hours a month (hiring committee, research etc.) Do you have sufficient time/energy to devote to this position?
