Are you looking for a career that offers excellent pay and benefits for you and your family? Do you want to earn while you learn from experienced instructors, as you build skills that will lead to long-term economic stability? If so, we invite you to apply for our Maine Union Tradeswomen Training, an intensive five week training from People's Inclusive Welding and the Union Construction Academy that will give you a foundation in welding skills, industry-recognized safety credentials, and an understanding of the meaning and benefits of Union membership. This pre-apprenticeship will provide a pathway into Union apprenticeships in various metal trades at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, as well as other Building and Construction Trades Unions, including the Laborers, Ironworkers, Plumbers & Pipefitters, and Sheetmetal Workers.
Classes will take place in South Portland. We are currently accepting applications for a session from November 11-December 13, beginning at the People's Inclusive Welding training facility in South Portland. Eligible participants will receive a stipend of $300/wk for participation in the training. At the conclusion of the training, our team will work with you to help you enroll in a registered Union apprenticeship that aligns with your skills and interest.
Please note that due to strong demand and limited spots within our program, our application process is highly competitive. The more information you can provide in response to the questions below, the stronger your application will be. Applications with missing information or incomplete responses will not be considered.
