Fall Work Weekend 2024

Welcome to the registration for our Fall Work Weekend!

How is the weekend working? Who's invited?

Alumni, volunteers, and veteran families are invited to join on Saturday, November 2nd - Sunday, November 3rd for work weekend projects to help get camp ready for winter!

While there will be kid-friendly projects, there will not be childcare throughout the weekend. Only high schoolers (9th grade and up) can come without parents for the weekend. Madrichimot (counselors) will be responsible for high schooler supervision and safety.

If you are a prospective Gilboa family and want to come for an Open House tour on Sunday November 3rd, you don't need to fill out this registration form. RSVP here instead!

Housing & Facilities:

  • Space at Camp Gilboa is limited and will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, and assigned by camp staff. The options are cabins or a room in the lodge.
  • The campsite was recently renovated, yet designed to be rustic in nature. The cabins do not have electricity and are lit by solar lanterns, and are serviced by a separate bathroom building. The main lodge has bathrooms, a lounge, a kitchen, and other facilities that all are welcome to use.
  • Note that if you are only one adult, you may be assigned to a shared room with someone of the same gender.
Meals:
Vegetarian meals and snacks will be provided from Saturday morning snacks through Sunday lunch. This will include lots of kid-friendly food, coffee and tea, and alternatives for people with dietary restrictions. Please indicate restrictions and allergies on your registration form.

General Work Weekend Seder Yom (Schedule)

Participants will not be charged for the weekend, and we are so grateful for your time & labor! We do ask that you make a donation if you are able ($36-$180 per person) to help offset the cost of food and supplies for the weekend. Donate here: campgilboa.org/give

Transportation:

We will be coordinating carpools for high schoolers/maapilimot. In your registration form, you will indicate if you need a ride or have space. Those who are driving, we will need your extra seats so please help out if you can!

Participants flying from the Bay - since this is a tuition-free weekend, we ask that you cover your own travel costs. If this is a barrier to participation, let us know and we can offer support.

If you want to come to work weekend and would be flying in from elsewhere, contact Sydney - sydney@campgilboa.org

COVID Safety: While we wish that we could control every possible risk, and while we will use our best efforts to keep your family safe from the Covid-19 virus, we cannot promise or guarantee that this or any other pathogen will not enter the camp. By registering, you acknowledge that you understand this risk. We recommend testing before coming and ask that if you are feeling sick (regardless of covid test result) you stay home.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Rebecca (rebecca@campgilboa.org) or Sydney (sydney@campgilboa.org) or give us a call at 323-653-6772.
