Cumberland County 4-H Teen Teacher: Summer Paid Internship due May 27, 2024

Welcome to the 4-H Summer of Science Teen Teachers program. 4-H Teen Teaching is a summer internship for teens ages 14-19 which will give you 21st Century Skills for your future while earning a stipend ($600) to support your effort. The internship includes 1/2 day trainings (June 25, 26, and 27, 9:30am - 3:30pm, required) and then teaching a few hours per week during July. You can combine this awesome opportunity with another summer job or internship if you choose.

For those teens selected for this program, you will teach a science lesson to kids in 2nd -5th grade once a week (with the option of teaching two sessions if you want more experiences). You will be paired with another teen teacher and there will be a college intern to guide you. You will teach four lessons, one per week for the entire month of July. We will train you how to help younger kids learn. In addition to being a co-teacher, you will get to know the other teen teachers and the college interns throughout the summer.

There will be a mid-summer meeting in mid-July (time to be determined) and a final all-Teen Teacher meeting in early August to turn in supplies and your reflection tool.
