Dragons' den: Pitch an Investment
GLF Investment Case Symposium Washington, D.C. 2018
Description
The Global Landscapes Forum is calling for applications to pitch investment ready projects at the GLF Investment Case Symposium - 30th May, Washington, D.C. This pitching plenary exposes symposium participants to the realities of how to communicate an investment-ready project. The dragons' den-style format provides a unique opportunity to showcase what makes a good pitch from the investor perspective.

Submissions are kindly requested by 2nd May 2018.

About the dragons' den
A key component of the symposium, the purpose of the dragons' den-style process is to reflect the types of questions and information that inform an investor's decision-making process.

Objectives include:

- To provide symposium participants with clear examples of project designs that are "investment ready"
- To simulate a real pitch session between investor and investee
- To provide investors with an overview of the range of investment opportunities in landscape management and restoration
- To identify common challenges and strategies for successful restoration project pitching

Format:

- 10 minutes -  presentation/pitch by the project leads
- 12 minutes - Q+A on project from investors, with questions being targeted towards the type of questions the investor would ask if they were considering an investment

This format will repeat three times.

- 20 minutes - Questions from audience, followed by short summary from "dragons"

Applications will be selected using the following guidelines:

- How viable is the investment being pitched?
- Would the discussion around the investment opportunity create meaningful lessons for the investment community about opportunities within the sustainable landscape sector?

Benefits for session participants
Session participants will benefit from a wide range of services and complimentary items:

- Presentation support from the GLF Coordination Team
- Digital/print logo acknowledgement on all event communication and website materials
- Social and traditional media, communications and outreach support
