2. SOLO WORK. Your solo can be either in a studio space or on stage. It needs to be 2:00-3:00 minutes in length. Choreography should be done by YOU.

3. TEACHER RECOMMENDATION. Your teacher recommendation should be on school letterhead and should include your leadership skills, technical ability, professionalism in class and on stage as well as your academic merits. Recommendation letters should be emailed directly to Lauren Gomez at FLMERITSCHOLARSHIP@gmail.com by the recommending teacher. Subject should state "Merit Scholarship recommendation for ********** (your name)."

4. RESUME. Your resume should be no longer than one page in length. Please email it to FLMERITSCHOLARSHIP@gmail.com. Subject line should read "********** (your name) resume."

5. PERSONAL ESSAY.
HIGH SCHOOL: Your essay should be 250-300 words in length and should discuss (1)any future plans in the dance field, (2) why you have chosen dance as a focus in your life, (3)why you feel you are deserving of this scholarship and how you would use the money to further your education if awarded the prize. Please also include details about your solo and your choreographic process.
MIDDLE SCHOOL: Your essay should be 250-300 words in length and discuss (1) how dance has impacted your life, (2)why you are deserving of this scholarship and (3) how you plan to use the money to further your education if you are awarded the prize. Please also include details about your solo and your choreographic process.
