Johnston Middle School Fall Cheerleading Tryouts
Please fill out the following information. Application and all paperwork must be filled out and turned in prior to the TRYOUT.

Johnston Middle School Cheer Tryouts are for current 7th graders and current 8th graders THAT WILL BE ATTENDING 8th AND 9th GRADE AT JOHNSTON MIDDLE SCHOOL IN THE FALL OF 2022-2023.

A pre-tryout informational meeting will take place on Wednesday, March 30th at 5:30pm at Johnston High School. This meeting will be for all athletes that will be in 8th-12th grade during the 22-23 school year to learn about expectations of the program and what it means to be a Johnston Cheerleader.

Tryouts will take place on Saturday, April 9th starting at with a clinic from 8:00am - 12:00pm and tryouts beginning at 1:00pm. The clinic is required in order to be eligible to tryout, this is where you will review the material necessary for your tryout at 1:00pm. Within 24-hours of submitting this registration for you will be emailed more information about the season and links with videos of the required cheer and dance for your tryout. It is highly recommended to review and begin learning the material as soon as it is available to you.

A parent meeting will follow tryouts on April 19th at 5:30pm at Johnston High School.

The tryout material (videos) will be shared with you via Google Drive prior to the clinic upon the submission of this Google Form. There will be separate videos for the cheer and dance so be sure to watch both. It is the cheerleaders responsibility to view and practice material prior to the clinic and tryouts. *
The tryout clinic will be Saturday, April 9th from 8:00am-12:00pm. Check in will be from 8:00-8:15pm. We will begin reviewing material at 8:15am. This is where you will review the necessary material for the tryout. Tryouts will begin promptly at 1:00pm. *
What to wear: Solid white t-shirt, black shorts, cheer shoes or tennis shoes. Hair must be up in a ponytail or bun. Absolutely no jewelry. Nails must be cut short enough that they cannot be seen above your finger tips. *
If you choose NOT to accept the position you are offered, please contact Coach Craigmile immediately as there may be others who would like the opportunity to cheer. You will have until Tuesday, April 12th to decline a position. *
