PSBC wishes to provide partial funding of up to $2000. Scholarships will be granted under the understanding that successful applicants would need to have the ability to cover additional costs independently (these costs will not be covered by the scholarship program). Successful applicants will have to cover the costs up front and will be reimbursed after the World Parkinson Congress.
People with Parkinson’s (PWP) and/or carepartners will receive priority in the selection process
To apply for the scholarship program, you must meet the following criteria:PWP and/or carepartners:- Demonstrated commitment to support local community efforts such as leadership or active participation in a support group, advocacy, volunteering for SuperWalk or other Parkinson’s related activities.- Two letters of recommendation will be required from support group facilitator, physician, social worker, or friend.
Students and/or healthcare professionals:- Demonstrated commitment to support people with Parkinson’s disease through your profession, including volunteering with Parkinson Society BC through the provision of education sessions to local community members.- Two letters of recommendation from support groups, professional networks or supervisor.
