BHP Future of Work Program Application
The BHP Future of Work Program, led by BHP and the Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE), has been established to provide educational and employment opportunities in regional and remote Australia and meet the demands of the future workforce. The purpose of the program is to promote the uptake of educational pathways in regional areas, including for those who would otherwise not attend University. The aim is to contribute to the skills development of regional workforces for the future and support local efforts to overcome economic challenges brought about by COVID-19. Applicants will be considered based on their ability to demonstrate alignment to the objectives of the program.

If you are currently enrolled, or are seeking to enrol, in a short course (Undergraduate Certificate or Graduate Certificate) at a University or Non-University Higher Education Provider (NUHEP), and reside in one of the regional areas below, you can apply for the opportunity to have your student contribution covered. You may also be eligible for assistance relating to other expenses. Please note, you must submit this application to be considered for the Future of Work Program and associated funding support.

The regional locations include:
- The Bowen Basin and Mackay in Queensland (QLD)
- Upper Spencer Gulf and Roxby Downs in South Australia (SA)
- The Pilbara and the Gold Fields in Western Australia (WA)
- The Hunter Region in New South Wales (NSW).

Please note that you are required to be enrolled, or seeking enrolment, in a Commonwealth Grant Scheme (CGS) short course to enable you to apply for a Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP). We suggest that you reach out to your University / Non-University Higher Education Provider (NUHEP) to confirm whether you are eligible for a CSP. Unfortunately, if you do not have a CSP then we cannot guarantee your eligibility for the program.
