APPLICATION DUE BY 3:30 PM ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 28TH, 2025

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Clean & Green supports innovative community-based groups and organizations in the cleaning, maintaining, and beautifying of otherwise vacant properties in Genesee County. All new group applications are reviewed and rated using a point system with all answers totaling up to 100 points. Each question indicates how many points it is worth. Some questions are not scored. Answers on this application, as well as previous participation in Clean & Green (if applicable), will be used to select groups for the Clean & Green program. This is a competitive process and applicants are encouraged to give as much detail in their answers as possible. Answer all questions within the application thoroughly and thoughtfully. Answers that are descriptive and align with program goals will be given more points. Incomplete applications may not be accepted.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Community based: Clean & Green is for  COMMUNITY-BASED GROUPS only – for profit businesses or individuals will not be considered
2. Tools and Equipment: Each Clean & Green group is required to provide its own tools and equipment (lawn mowers, weed whackers, rakes, work gloves, shovels, etc.). If your group does not have its own tools and equipment it is not eligible for Clean & Green.
3. Bank Account: Clean & Green payments can only be issued to a group with bank accounts in its group name (not other groups or individuals). All payments will be via direct deposit.
4. Insurance: Groups selected for the program will have to provide proof of insurance or commit to liability release forms in order to participate. Each Clean & Green group that has liability insurance must cover every individual performing work as well as the Genesee County Land Bank Authority (Please provide a copy of liability insurance if already covered) or each participant signs a liability release form (parents or guardians will be required to sign forms for youth participants).
5. Maintenance: Each Clean & Green group must maintain at least 25 properties every three weeks. There is no maximum limit on the number of properties a group can maintain. Land Bank staff will determine the number of properties for each group according to available funding and previous participation in the program. New groups are limited to 25 properties their first season.
6. Reporting: Each Clean & Green group will be required to submit a digital group report and parcel specific maintenance report via the Flint Property Portal app following each round of maintenance, prior to issuing payments.
