An Evening of Oakland Storytelling: Pitch your story
Are you a fan of storytelling and have an Oakland tale to share? Submit a short paragraph below telling us about your true story related to our event theme - views - for a chance to be included in the evening's program.

Your story MUST:

• Relate to the Oakland neighborhood in Pittsburgh, PA
• Extend no longer than five to seven minutes
• Be true
• Be about you
• Be inspired by our event theme, views
• Be a story! Great stories have stakes, conflict, and resolution. We want to hear yours!

Please DO NOT submit a stand-up routine, a fictional excerpt, a story featuring someone else, or a rant.

To be considered as one of this year's storytellers, we ask that you commit to a minimum of two meetings with our storytelling coach, Kelly Flanagan Dee, producer of The Moth in Pittsburgh, and be available from 5:00-9:00 p.m. on our event date, Friday, June 7th, 2019. If you are selected, you will be granted the opportunity to attend the Pittsburgh Moth event on May 6th at no cost.

All submissions will be reviewed by Kelly Flanagan Dee and members of OPDC’s Event Committee
