Share with us your BIG IDEA for integrating environmental and climate change literacy and action into your classroom for next year. Your BIG IDEA does not have to be fully thought out, but try to be descriptive because we will make breakout rooms based on everyone's interests. Check out some of the examples written below and go to our website to explore how different grants might help you achieve your BIG IDEA:

Sarah's BIG IDEA: I want my students to take part in at least 2 community science projects! One that I'm really interested in doing is the California Bio Blitz...and I'm not sure about the other one.
Nancy's BIG IDEA: I want to get my students involved in tackling waste sorting at my school site.
Janan's BIG IDEA: I want my students to become little naturalists and get into nature journaling. I want to get a nice set of outdoor learning materials for when we go outside (sturdy clipboards, outdoor notebooks, rulers, magnifying class, different sensors, a wagon to cart it around...etc) and I want to have an outdoor lesson every week!
Helen's BIG IDEA: I want to do a project around air quality. I want to partner with the West Oakland Environmental Indicators Project to learn about the power of community scientific activism and support my students in monitoring air quality in and around the school.
Herberta's BIG IDEA: Marine science! I want to get students on field trips to different watershed areas and eventually to the beach to study watersheds and the impact of climate change on the hydrological cycle!
