UTS is committed to an equitable education program that upholds and reflects the principles of fair and inclusive education which should permeate all policies, procedures and practices, including admissions. UTS is proud of its merit-based admissions process, outreach strategy, established financial assistance program, and parent and alumni communities and we strive to enhance all of these through this initiative.
In an effort to reach and welcome more students from underrepresented communities, UTS has formed
Community Connections, a network of affinity groups that connects interested students and their families with current students, families, staff, and alum with a shared identity as they embark on the road to UTS.
Community Connections offers prospective families:
- Opportunity to attend UTS Community Connections events at UTS
- Opportunity to be connected with a mentor (current UTS student/family, alumni, or staff)
- Guidance throughout the admission process (UTS application, entrance tests, interview process, bursary application if applicable, etc.)
At this time, UTS has formed 2 affinity groups:
UTS Black Community Connections
UTS Indigenous Community Connections
