Maladaptive Daydreaming Community Survey
This is a survey to collect and share basic statistics about maladaptive daydreaming. The point of this survey is to find commonalities between people who suffer from maladaptive daydreaming symptoms and help this community compare their similarities and differences.

One of the biggest difficulties for maladaptive daydreamers is the loneliness of living inside their head. Despite the ever growing online community it's hard to feel connected due to the private nature of daydreaming. Previous surveys about maladaptive daydreaming have not had large sample sizes (completed responses) or have not accounted for the varying nature of maladaptive daydreaming. This will also be the first survey published for the MD community, not the psychiatric community and results will be presented in plain language. Volunteering to complete this survey helps everyone better understand their symptoms and experiences.

All information collected will be anonymous. Your name is not required. Any personal information submitted is for statistical purposes only and will not be shared. No single response will be published or shared. You must be at least 13 years old to complete this survey. The responses to this survey will be published on

Trigger Warning - There is a section that includes a trauma questionnaire and questions about trauma and abuse. You are not required to answer and can skip to the next section.

You do not have to be diagnosed with maladaptive daydreaming symptoms or be sure if you suffer from them to respond. The publisher of this survey is not a medical professional.
It will take 15-30 minutes to complete this survey.
