Family Survey - Technology
As you have likely heard, the Broward County School Board announced that students will begin the 2020-2021 school year with distance learning via a virtual education model. Franklin Academy will follow the District’s lead and will launch its virtual education model, "Franklin From Afar", as scheduled on August 19, 2020.

Due to the configuration of our instructional delivery model, each student will need a dedicated device to participate in our “Franklin From Afar” program. Students will be required to log in for the entire school day and classes will be facilitated using a live, synchronous model to allow for maximum interaction. A specific schedule will be sent which will include multiple breaks and lunch. Attendance will be taken EVERY DAY and will be reported to the school District and the state for legal compliance with compulsory attendance laws.

As you may be aware, schools across the nation are in the process of ordering new technology to assist families who need access to a dedicated device. With this in mind, Franklin Academy placed a large order of computers which are scheduled to arrive through September. Please answer the questions below with the idea that ONLY students who do not have a dedicated device at home and need a device are eligible for school-issued computers. Please complete this survey by Wednesday, August 5, 2020.
