Please note, all nominees must meet the following criteria:

- Successful completion of 1st year of teaching in a North Carolina public school, and currently in their 2nd year of teaching during the 2026-2027 school year.

- At the time of nomination, nominees must be employed in the same school district or charter school as their 1st year of teaching.

- Met minimum full first year of teaching as determined by NC Department of Public Instruction.
- Residency Licensure and Teach for America experience meet requirements.
- Must teach students directly for at least 70% of the time
