Acquiring an Instrument
It is important to understand that one of the most important parts of getting your child off to a successful start is having a quality instrument. If you have not yet purchased or rented an instrument, we will be having an instrument rental night. Representatives from a local music store will be on-site to assist you with purchases and rentals. Please bring check and credit card info and your driver’s license.
All students need their instrument in class by (September 26). If you have any questions, please contact me at tfairbanks@nmusd.us

A band, by definition, is a wind ensemble that compromises of woodwinds( i.e.flute), Brass (i.e. trumpet) or percussion ( i.e. drums). Here are a list of instruments we will not do in band. Due to logistical issues. These instruments are not choices. Violin, Electric Bass, Guitar,Ocarina, and Digeridoo. Please contact me with any questions.

Parent consent form
1. Participation in the Pacific Chorale Academy is a semester-long commitment; please sign up only if you are committed to attending all rehearsals.
2. All students must be nominated by their music teacher. Nominations must be approved by the students’ classroom teacher and principal.
3. To remain in the program, students must maintain good standing academically.
4. To remain in the program, students must maintain good standing behaviorally.
5. Students are expected to faithfully and responsibly participate in all practices and performances with a positive cooperative attitude. Attendance at all rehearsals and concerts is mandatory. Any
absences must be excused with written parent permission. Students will be dropped from the program after 3 unexcused absences in a semester.
6. Students are encouraged to wear the Pacific Chorale Academy shirt and school uniform pants/skirts for all performances.
Permission to Release Pupil Information:

Maintaining the instruments
We ask for a donation of $60 for the maintenance of the instruments and to provide instructional materials for the band class. Students will be provided a t-shirt, book and starter supplies to aid in their growth. They will also receive challenges on their instrument for home practice. No child is ever turned away due to finances. Please let me know of any financial challenges that may prevent you from donating before the first day of class.
