Dykes To Watch Shows With 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈
A WhatsApp group for folks who want to watch shows together, started by Bechdel Theatre.
Currently there are multiple channels. Choose the most suitable one/s for your location.
You can also join the Inter/national Notices group to chat about UK/Worldwide Touring shows, International Festivals, etc.
Use your local Chat Channel for stuff like:
- Finding new pals to sit with, organising to meet pre/post show.
- Chatting about shows you want to see/have seen (be conscious, makers may be in this chat! 👀)
Use the Notice Board for stuff like:- Sharing your own shows
- Publicising discount codes, special offers, news
Official Announcements:
- Admins use this channel for company announcements & events
GUIDELINES FOR USE:
- This is a queer feminist group that centres dykes and queers of marginalised genders (including trans dykes & bi dykes - we do not police these terms, and will not question your identity or place under this umbrella).
- Please don't assume anyone's pronouns or identity, whether addressing individuals or the whole group (we're not all women, so "hey ladies!" is inappropriate as a group greeting)
- Respect boundaries: No unsolicited DMs 🤳 (including admins! We may not respond to unsolicited DMs - email hello@bechdeltheatre.com instead)
- Mute the chat to avoid unwanted notifications 🔕
- Don’t share the direct chat link with people who haven't filled out this little form to join (this is to help us avoid bots/randoms)
- Use the Notice Boards to advertise your own shows, take care not to fill the chat with marketing 📌
- Don't spam, or post anything irrelevant/upsetting.
- Use content warnings if relevant.
- Discrimination will not be tolerated. This includes – but is not limited to: homophobia, transphobia, biphobia, racism, sexism, ableism, classism, body-shaming.
- Admins are not moderating the chat day-to-day. Look after each other & email us anything important (hello@bechdeltheatre.com)
