Teaching Children who need the most support, including those with SEND
This programme will enable participants to become familiar with the principles for how to teach all children to read and how to use this guidance and resources from their own SSP programme.
Let’s get all children reading!
The Reading Ambition for All programme has been developed by drawing on expert advice from disability charities, leading academics, the EEF, validated SSPs, school leaders, practitioners, Ofsted, the reading framework, the SEND code of practice and wide evidence base.
Participants will attend all six sessions and complete gap tasks in between sessions. All sessions are free of charge and will be held at Lacey Green Conference Centre.
Programme Aims:
- to improve outcomes for children who need additional support with reading, including those with SEND
- to ensure that all children receive quality-first teaching based on the latest research into how children learn to read
Audience
The course is primarily aimed at Reading Leaders, SENDCos and senior leaders who can implement best practice regarding phonics and early reading. We are limiting this course to 1 person per school but there will be opportunities built in, to bring along relevant colleagues.
PLEASE NOTE - All delegates will be expected to attend all sessions. It is essential you have your head teachers support before signing onto this programme and ensure you can be released from school, and have the capacity to attend for ALL SESSIONS. Failure to attend a session will result in you not being able to continue or graduate from the programme.
