2014-15 Human-Coyote Interactions Survey

This survey is being conducted by biologists from Berry College (Rome, GA), Emory University, and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga to understand more about potential human-coyote interactions within the Metro Atlanta area. We are interested in learning about people’s perceptions of, attitudes towards, and experiences with coyotes living in urban and/or suburban landscapes. Several questions ask for specific locations and/or street addresses. Your willingness to provide such information will allow us to more accurately map coyote movement and activity patterns.

We hope that you will take a few minutes to complete the survey. Your participation is completely voluntary, there is no penalty for not participating, and your responses will be kept confidential. You have the right to withdraw from the study at any time without consequence. Risk to participants is minimal given that the survey is voluntary and any personal information will be kept confidential. Your consent to participate in the survey is implied when you fill out and submit the form. If you have any questions or comments about the survey please feel free to contact Dr. Chris Mowry (Professor of Biology, Berry College), the study director, by email at cmowry@berry.edu or by phone at 706-236-1712. If you have any questions about your rights as a subject/participant in this research, or if you feel you have been placed at risk, you can contact Dr. Bart Weathington, Chair of the UTC Institutional Review Board, at 423-425-4289. Additional contact information is available at www.utc.edu/irb. Thank you very much for participating.
