About CATS
Contemporary Asian Theater Scene (CATS) elevates Asian American and Pacific Islander voices in film, theatre, and community arts in Silicon Valley and beyond. For over 30 years, we have presented bold new works, supported emerging artists, and created space for cultural dialogue.
Role Overview
The Program and Marketing Operations Intern helps run the behind-the-scenes work that keeps CATS programs moving. This includes event support, marketing, campus outreach, and basic operations. It is a great fit for an SJSU student who cares about AAPI stories and wants hands-on experience in arts administration, events, and communications.
Key Responsibilities

Support planning and logistics for film, theatre, and community arts events

Assist with run-of-show documents, scripts, and event materials

Draft short copy and design for social media, emails, and events

Serve as a CATS ambassador at SJSU by sharing opportunities with clubs, departments and social media

Help with administrative tasks such as notes, file organization, and tracking attendance or outreach

Conduct light research on artists, partners, and themes in our programming
What We’re Looking For

Strong written and verbal communication skills; Canva experience
Create engaging social media video content for TikTok & Instagram that appeals to high school & colleg-aged individuals. Willingness to be on camera is a plus!

Reliable, organized, and comfortable working on Zoom and Google Drive

Interest in AAPI arts and culture, film, theatre, or nonprofit work

Willing to attend occasional in-person events in the South Bay (evenings or weekends)

Stipend: $3,600, paid in 2 installments

Hours: Up to 20 hours per week, schedule flexible around classes including onsite event prep and management

Location: Mostly remote, with some on-site support at events in the South Bay
