WHO WE ARE:
Art of Me is a multimedia based nonprofit organization that promotes healthy relationships for young people through an interdisciplinary curricula, media literacy and advocacy. Young people guide our conversations as they share their perspectives through writing, film and art. These stories challenge social norms through exploring what matters the most to them regarding relationships, family, community and their futures. Current programs include the What is Power & Community? story to film contest, online youth story publication, Power & Community Podcast, youth social impact story writing workshops and educator, What is Power & Community?” workshops.
We believe by creating opportunities for youth to share their stories will open the hearts and minds of others to see youth as who they are, who they want to be in our society; and allowing them to lead long-lasting fundamental change.
Private Screenings: The winning stories that were made into movies explore positive solutions to issues impacting the quality of life for our youth and families. During this season we are happy to be able to bring the youth led films to schools and organizations for private screenings. This is an opportunity to discuss movie themes, connect participants to community resources and learn opportunities to be part of the next productions. Through the power of a rotary phone and birthday cake wishes, they find themselves right in the element of magic where the past becomes the present to enjoy life without technology.
