Daily Schedule will be posted at the beginning of the school year for parents and students.
Attendance is taken daily at 3:15 p.m.All personal items are to be placed in assigned baskets located on the back tables, in the cafeteria.
During the program the following options will be available for children.
Outside Play Time: 3:30 – 4:00 p.m.
Snack Time: 4:00 p.m. - 4:20 p.m.
Homework and Study Tables: 4:20 p.m. – until completion
Various other stations such as Arts and Crafts, Reading Tents, Computer Lab, Board Game Challenges, Movie Days and Free Time will be available.
We will strive to help all students, as much as possible, with homework related activities. However, we cannot guarantee homework will be completed. If you wish for your child to complete their homework daily, please communicate your thoughts to the program director and speak with your child in regard to your expectations.
Snacks will be served daily. The monthly menu will be posted in the cafeteria, on the after school care information board. Alternate refreshment will be available if your child does not care for the snack being served.Please feel free to send snacks for your children if you feel the snack served will not be enough or not satisfy your child's needs. Please note allergy sensitive children attend this program and your child may be asked to sit separately if an ALLERGY SENSITIVE PRODUCT IS BEING CONSUMED.
St. Andrew School discipline policy will be in effect during the program hours, in addition to state requirements, as described below.
Constructive, developmentally appropriate child guidance and management techniques are to be used at all times, and shall include such measures as redirection, separation from problem situations, talking with the child about the situation, and praise for appropriate behavior.
There shall be no cruel, harsh, or corporal punishment, or any unusual punishments such as, but not limited to, punching, pinching, shaking, spanking, or biting. No child shall be subjected to profane language, threats, derogatory remarks about himself/herself or his/her family, or any other verbal abuse. Techniques of discipline shall not humiliate, shame, or frighten a child. Discipline shall not include the withholding of food, rest, or toilet use. Separation shall be brief in duration, and age and developmentally appropriate. The child shall be within sight and hearing of a school child care staff member, and in a safe, lighted, and well-ventilated space.
