The Carbon Market Directory is an online public resource and listing of Climate Action Reserve Account Holders that buy, sell, or retire carbon offset credits issued by the Reserve and that develop carbon offset projects. The Carbon Market Directory is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of all market players; it only includes Reserve Account Holders that opt to be included and spans across traders/brokers, exchanges, project developers, retailers, and wholesalers. This is also a great place to find and connect with other players within the carbon market as well as your sector/project type who have experience with Climate Action Reserve and our programming.

Market Role (please check all that apply) *

Project Developer: Organizations that provide project development services, including but not limited to, project financing, project design, cost/benefit analysis, feasibility and eligibility analysis, and technical services.

Trader/Broker: Organizations that provide brokerage services for buyers and sellers interested in transacting larger quantities of credits. They may or may not be Reserve account holders, but the credit transfers still occur within the Reserve system, so the buyer and seller would each need to have a Reserve account.

Retail: Reserve account holders who are willing to sell small quantities of credits and transfer them or retire them on behalf of a third-party purchaser. In this case, the buyer does not need to have their own account with the Reserve.

Wholesale: Reserve account holders who are interested in selling larger quantities of credits to other account holders.

Exchange: Platforms for financial transactions tied to trades in credits or derivatives contracts associated with credits. The actual transfer of credits still occurs within the Reserve system, so the buyer and seller would each need to have a Reserve account.

Project Owner: Community (e.g., comunidad, ejido), entity, or person that is interested in selling credits from their project.
