Each month we recommend children’s books that focus on math and science. Each book recommendation comes with a link to listen to the book (on YouTube) and activities that can be done at home that relate to the book’s themes. At-Home Engineering Challenges have children work through the engineering design process using materials they find at home. The goal is to solve the “challenge” without needing to purchase any special materials. Challenges include building a table out of paper, paper airplanes, parachutes, etc. All challenges are available on our website. How likely is your family to use at-home engineering challenges?
What kind of challenge would your family like to engage in?
Activity Kits are planned investigations that focus on a specific concept (like exploring light by making different types of lanterns). All instructions and how-to videos are available on our website. These kits require some materials to be purchased (if not already available at home).
