We are so excited that you are interested in serving as an AmeriCorps Member or completing your internship with CISNT!  

As an AmeriCorps Member or intern, individuals work with students participating in the CISNT Case Management or After School Programs. CISNT Programs focus on providing services that help students develop their social interactions, emotional regulation, improve in academic readiness and engagement, and gain social and leadership skills and assisting with the coordination and supervision of other community volunteers.

Interns complete the number of practicum hours required by their university or college.

AmeriCorps Members individuals can complete a service term of 100 hours (Abbriviated-time) or of 300 hours (Minimum-time)or of 450 hours (Quarter-time). AmeriCorps Members are eligible for a financial educational award after successful completion of their term of service.

AmeriCorps Members and Interns are require to:

1) Pass a criminal background check and/or fingerprinting.
2) Schedule a meeting with the AmeriCorps Program Staff.
3) Attend orientation.

CISNT is required by state law to obtain criminal history record information on AmeriCorps Members and Interns applicants being considered with CISNT. (Texas Education Code 21.917) The information set forth will be used by CISNT for the purpose of obtaining criminal history record information for determining eligibility to serve as a CISNT volunteer, intern, or AmeriCorps member.
