Tri-Share Child Care Employer Interest Form
What is Tri-Share?
Tri-Share is a program that seeks to create a partnership between employers, child care providers, and employees. It is designed to increase attraction and retention of employees by reducing barriers and cost associated with child care so workers can feel safe about the care of their children and get to work. It’s designed for Michigan businesses who have their pulse on barriers to employment and want a competitive edge. Participating employers in the Tri-Share Hub pay a third of the child care cost, employees pay a third, and the state matches with a third of the child care cost for employees. The Tri-Share Model is intended to boost labor participation rates in a time when labor participation has been declining. The Tri-Share Model is yet one more tool to keep Michigan business competitive through strategic and innovative partnerships.
Employees eligible to participate in the Tri-Share must be employed by a participating employer, have an income above 200% of the Federal Poverty Line (FPL) and below 325% (FPL), and not otherwise be eligible for the Child Development and Care Program (commonly called the state child care subsidy).
