What We Do:
Form the foundation and continual expansion of the Idaho Young Democrats of America.
Introduce, develop, and instill in young people an active interest in governmental affairs and the electoral process.
Foster and promote the philosophies, principles and goals of the Democratic Party.
Develop leadership skills in our members.
Involve ourselves in programs to improve voter education and participation and contribute to the well-being of the community at large.
Provide all citizens the highest degree of justice and social welfare.
- Attend the monthly YDA conference calls over telephone- Provide important news and updates to the Idaho Young Democrats board of directors regarding YDA- Attend national meetings, conferences, etc. for YDA- Develop relationships with YDA board members, national committee people, and IDYD supporters- Fund-raise for national committee people trips to YDA conferences and meetings in coordination with the development director and other national committee person.- Assist other members on the board of directors with special projects and tasks as needed
What will make you successful in this role?- Having a good work ethic- Solid communication skills including speaking and writing- A steadfast commitment to electing Democrats and passing progressive policies from the local to national level- Any prior experience of any level as a volunteer, intern, or employee helping out Democratic candidates, the Democratic Party (Idaho Democrats, DNC, etc.), Democratic organizations, or progressive organizations (i.e. Planned Parenthood, ACLU, etc.)
