PVYO Summer Music Institute 2020
PVYO is proud to offer on-line summer classes this year to supplement the ensemble instruction students are receiving at PVYO, school, or other youth orchestras and bands.

PVYO Music Director, Mr. William Hollin, is a veteran music teacher with 42 years in the classroom and on the podium. Twenty-three of those years, he has been at the helm of our organization as Music Director and Philharmonia Conductor.

For Music Theory, we will be using Alfred's Essentials of Music Theory Books 1, 2 and 3, correlating with each level of theory. Students will need to acquire their own copy of the book through their preferred music dealer or Amazon. There is no text for Music History.

Students may enroll in multiple sessions. Each Session is $100.00.

The classes will be held weekly at 9am for one hour according to the following schedule:


Music Theory Level 1* - Mondays 6/22, 6/29, 7/6, 7/13 (9:00 - 10:00 am)

2. Please wear appropriate school clothes for all class meet-ups.
3. Please have your materials ready. (books, pencil, etc.)
4. Students must listen carefully during class and carefully follow the instructions of the instructor.
5. Students should go to participant list and raise their hands if they have questions during class.
6. Students should attend all classes.
7. No make-ups will be given and no credit can be issued for missed classes.
8. Class Size: Maximum – 29 per class, Minimum – 4 per class
