Purpose
The purpose of these awards is to honor and recognize our special volunteers, staff, and supporters who epitomize the mission of StandUp for Kids to end the cycle of youth homelessness...one life at a time. Our awards communicate distinction and recognition of superior achievement across StandUp for Kids and to the general public.
Nominations
Nominations must be received by the deadline of August 31 by completing this form (return anytime to www.tinyurl.com/sufkawards2019). The form will ask for the nominee’s and nominator’s information, and for a brief (150 word or less) statement about how the nominee meets the criteria for the award. Only Executive Directors (or their designees) should submit this form, but should be in contact with their programs and supporters to solicit names of nominees. Each program can submit only one nominee per award category. The nominee does not need to come from the submitter's own program.

Last year's winners are not eligible for awards in the same categories again this year. Find last year's winners descried in October 2018 posts on our blog, http://www.standupforkids.org/blog

Reviews
The review committee consists of one chair (Teri Burg), one appointee from the ED advisory council and Board (Kim Sisson), one staff member (Juanita Mitchell), and one member of the national board (Eddy Ameen). The committee will first review each of the nominations to ensure eligibility, and then begin the process of ranking nominations per award, determining winners through a consensus-driven process. The national board and national staff reserve the right to submit additional nominees for the committee's consideration.
Recognition
Awards will be announced and distributed at the Saturday banquet dinner during our annual National Conference. Our hope is that awardees will attend the conference. The individuals and programs who earn this distinction will receive a commemorative plaque. A follow-up news release will be distributed to supporters and posted on our website.
