Hi all!

Thanks so much for signing up to join me for a pilgrimage along the Black Heritage Trail in Boston! Does not look like it will rain - hallelujah! 50s and cloudy so bundle up! Tour is about an hour and a half walk in a hilly neighborhood.

We will be meeting at 3pm at the Robert Gould Shaw and the 54th Regiment Memorial (Beacon St and Park St in Boston). If you have trouble finding me, please text or call me: 201-637-4540

In case you are coming by public transit..
From FCC, you can take Red Line from Harvard Sq towards Ashmont and get off at Park Street (about 20 min)

About Black Heritage Trail
The Black Heritage Trail® is a 1.6 mile walk through the heart of Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood. The trail showcases residences and community buildings associated with a Black community that thrived on, and near, the north slope of Beacon Hill before, during, and after the American Civil War. Throughout that time, this community struggled and organized for equal rights and access to equal education. Community members championed the movement to abolish slavery and even housed freedom seekers on their journey along the Underground Railroad.

The Trail itself
During the tour, I will invite us all to observe silence as we immerse ourselves in this pilgrimage experience together. At each of these ten stops, we will pause to read out loud the significance of where we are standing. I will bring extra printed copies in case it is hard to hear me with traffic noise.

As you walk, I invite you to do any or none of the following that feels right to you...
-welcome the tour itself as a prayer (maybe grounding yourself in your heart beat and breath, carrying a sacred object in your pocket like prayer beads or a stone or whatever feels most meaningful to you)
-notice some of your senses throughout the tour - smell, sight, hear, feel
-talk to and listen for God

After the Tour
At our last stop we will process for a few minutes the experience together, perhaps noticing...
-feelings that emerge
-what the experience was like
-where did/do you notice God

And after processing, you are welcome to join me in prayer before we depart.

"Thus says the Lord: Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls." Jeremiah 6:16

Really looking forward to seeing you all!

Many blessings,
