Scientists and artists share a common trait: they both investigate phenomena and relationships, make sense of them, and communicate them to an audience.

The municipal infant-toddler centers and preschools of Reggio Emilia, Italy, cultivate this mindset impressively well. Through facilitation by skilled teachers, four-, five-, and six-year-olds conduct investigations and communicate their findings in ways that can inspire secondary school science teachers and administrators.

Participants in this interactive workshop will gain immediately applicable ideas to deepen relationships with students, implement authentic projects aligned to the 2016 MA state STE frameworks, and engage students in cognitively demanding learning experiences.
