Hello Friends
WINTER IS HERE! Winnipeg Trails is excited to bring you the mobile ski library for its third season! Every year we grow the library and offer more, fun ways to get outdoors and to get active during the winter.
WE NEED YOUR HELP! The mobile ski library was built by community, and we need that passion for participation to help us share the library with your friends and family.
The library will always be a FREE event. All ages, and all abilities are welcome to participate.
WHAT'S NEW THIS YEAR?
- MORE adapted equipment
- MORE kids skis
- Specialized community events: Active Aging Ski, Adapted Ski, 2Spirit + Indigenous Women's Ski, Women's* Ski
- Some cozy amenities
- Website updates, to help people choose their own adventure
- New library locations
- Volunteer Training!
WINTERPEG IS FOR EVERYONE! We are looking for volunteers who share our passion for creating accessible and inclusive spaces. This is about building community, sharing resources and being active.
This year we are offering a chance to learn about skiing from Paralympic athletes. Winnipeg Trails believes everyone should have access to their community parks and outdoor spaces. We want to talk about adapted equipment, guiding blind or visually impaired skiers and looking at our outdoor community spaces through a lens of accessibility and inclusion. Please come out to one of our volunteer training opportunities so that we can work together to create more accessible and inclusive spaces this winter. There will be pizza, and a chance to go skiing after the training session.
If this sounds FUN to you, please complete this form and we look forward to thanking you for your help! There are a number of ways you can volunteer with the mobile ski library. Persons of all abilities are welcome to sign up.
