This form is to express interest in being the
Art Enrichment lead for your child's class. The AE Committee will then select the lead for each class and notify you directly that you have been chosen. There are six sessions (six artists) that are presented each school year. Being the AE lead is a fun way to be involved in your child's classroom. The children LOVE art enrichment. Sessions are held about every 6 weeks and do not require a lot of time/prep other than a one hour orientation (generally held at 9:15AM on Wednesdays) and then 1-2 hours the day of the session. No art experience is necessary!
If two or more parents/guardians want to share the lead for a classroom, please indicate in the "Comments" section below who you want to share with and
have both interested parties sign up.
If you are interested in being the lead for more than one classroom, please fill out the form for each teacher.
The AE lead has the following specific responsibilities:
- Attend orientation in the cafeteria prior to each session. Alternatively, if you are not able to attend a certain session or if another parent will be the lead for a session, make sure the parent will attend the orientation.
- Coordinate parent volunteers for each session (limited to four volunteers per classroom for each session). Send sign up genius through the Room Parent.
- Prepare art enrichment materials prior to each session – may include preparing supplies, cutting paper, etc.
- On the assigned session date, present the slideshow about the artist to the class at the grade level of the students. Explain the project to the students and then supervise and help students as needed.
- Clean up classroom and cart after each session and return to the art closet in the same condition you found it.
