Summary of Role: Program Coach is a paid position that works to aid in the facilitation of the Marathon and Half Marathon Training Programs. These programs have two 14 to 16-week sessions a year, February - June, and June - October. The group runs occur Tuesday nights and Saturday Mornings. Each session will have two to three Program Coaches with key responsibilities being divided between coaches based on availability, preference, and experience. There is an average of 100 participants per session for our training programs. This contract position works in collaboration with the Run Minnesota Executive Director, Program Director and is supported by other Co-Coaches, volunteer Team Leads and entails approximately 5 hours per week for 17 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
IN-PERSON - Tuesday nights and Saturday Morning
- Attend and aid in the facilitation of one/two group runs per week
- Assist with planning running routes twice a week.
- Coordination of hydration stations.
- Communicating with volunteer Team Leads for each pace group at each group run.
- Group coaching. Explaining workouts and responding to training questions from participants.
- Point of contact for on-site group runs.
Qualifications
- Coaching Certification
- First Aid Certification Preferred
- Previous coaching experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal and public relations skills.
- Computer access
