Thank you for proposing a session for the 2019 Contributor Summit in San Diego! This year's contributor summit will have 5 rooms in addition to the two for new contributor workshops. As with every Contributor Summit, sessions should be about topics that concern a broad section of the Kubernetes community, rather than just a single SIG (that's what the SIG sessions are for during the KubeCon week).
Important Dates:* Session proposals open: August 1* First week of September: registration opens* September 9: session proposals close* September 24: sessions selected* October 1: publish draft schedule
We're particularly looking for sessions that do any of the following things:* Discuss changes in process or standards for the project (Ex: API Review, Security)* Cover new features/tooling that affect multiple SIGs* Review key information for contributors (Ex: Testing, roadmaps)* Make decisions or do work on important strategic initiatives (Ex: KEPs)* Discuss work to improve project sustainability (Ex: contributor ladder)* Help contributors to improve their skills or achieve objectives (Ex: live code reviews!)
The program will include a mix of presentation sessions in a large theater, discussion sessions in the round, and workshops or review sessions with a tutorial layout. The sessions will be selected by the 2019 CS Content Team based on expected quality, summit goals, and creating a balanced program. We do not have any guaranteed funding to assist with travel expenses for the Summit, although some programs (such as Diversity scholarships) cover the Summit as well.
The contributor summit will also include new and intermediate contributor workshops, and an unconference track. This is not the place to submit proposals for those; expect notifications about the unconference closer to the Summit itself.
If you want to propose multiple sessions, then submit this form multiple times.
If you have further questions, ask in #contributor-summit on Kubernetes Slack or contact firstname.lastname@example.org
