Educators Take Action
In the wake of the COVID-19 crisis, placing at times unbearable strain on all of us, California educators are more committed than ever to fight for schools our students deserve. As educators, we believe in and will take action to support the following:

1) 𝗪𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟴 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗰𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗰𝘂𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗳𝗳𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗳𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗯𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀. Months of education deprivation must lead to more resources to education, public health and social infrastructure, not less. Distance learning, expanded privatization, and increased reliance on virtual education will never replace the essential role our public schools and educators play.

2) 𝗪𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, which is crucial to building the strong supports our students will need by raising $12 billion for schools and social services by taxing large multinational commercial and industrial property based on current value (excluding all residential, agricultural property and small businesses).

3) 𝗪𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰, 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀. Our students and our families need assurance of basic conditions to succeed: healthcare, housing and economic security.
