Through years of support from the FGCU community, Laces of Love has been able to provide brand new shoes to kids in need at schools across SWFL.
Laces of Love will continue to be the nonprofit of focus for Homecoming Week 2025 and we are encouraging all faculty, staff, and students to get involved. If you enjoy fun competitions, we encourage you to create and register a team on campus, then start collecting new pairs of kids' shoes. The team with the most shoes donated wins. Awards will be determined in the following categories:
***Alumni Team that donates the most shoes
*** Faculty/Staff Team that donates the most shoes
***Student Team that donates the most shoes
***Individual that donates the most shoes
Register your team below by January 24 , 2025 to be considered.
Donation drop-offs should be made (all at once/together) at the Soaring With Service event at the Library Lawn on January 30, 2025 between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM (or anytime prior to January 30 in McTarnaghan Hall 229 - Office of Service-Learning & Civic Engagement).
Shoes should be new and all "school age" sizes are needed from K through 12. Boys shoes are more in need currently than girls shoes; however, all donations are welcome. Sizes 1-8 are in great need for both girls and boys. If interested, monetary donations can be received at the Soaring With Service event directly to Laces of Love, with each $25 gift being counted as a pair of shoes toward your team's total.
