The GALA Bowling League (GBL) is a bowling league oriented towards the LGBTQIA+ community & allies (18+) based in Rhode Island and the greater New England area.
Our league’s vision is to create a safe and inclusive environment where people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can participate in a competitive and friendly team sport, develop a social support system, and build lifelong friendships. In addition to bowling, our league will engage other area non-profit organizations to donate time and resources to improve the lives of LGTBQIA+ people in the greater Rhode Island & New England Area.

Where: East Providence Lanes | 80 Newport Avenue Rumford, RI 02916When: Beginning January 11th, 2026 (15 Weeks) | Sundays at 6:00 p.m. (practice begins at 5:50 p.m.)
New Bowlers must arrive at 5:30 p.m. on January 11th for orientation.

Cost: Weekly membership dues are $20 (cash or check only). If you are absent, you are still responsible for paying when you return as the bowling alley charges our league for your lineage fee even if you're not bowling that week.
Pre-bowl Note: You may also pre-bowl (bowl in advance) for any week that you are unable to bowl at the designated time (maximum of six (6) times in a season and three (3) consecutive weeks). If you pre-bowl you don't pay EPL, you will pay the GBL Treasurer when you return the following week.
The GALA Bowling League is a member of the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) and the International Gay Bowling Organization (IGBO). The GBL pays for all Regular Bowlers to become sanctioned by USBC and IGBO, except anyone joining after week 3 of bowling will be required to pay their own sanction fees for USBC ($25) and IGBO ($3). All Regular Bowlers and Substitutes must be USBC and IGBO sanctioned (Pacers do not need to be sanctioned).

on Sunday, January 4th from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
