PETA’S WORKSHOP EXPRESS! THEATER WORKSHOPS FOR ALL
The Summer Program features eight courses, which embody the company’s unique integrated theater arts curriculum PETA is notable for. Taught by PETA’s exceptional roster of artist-teachers, participants are ensured of a meaningful and fun-filled, creative experience.
Children’s Theater is an opportunity for children to let their imagination run wild. With two separate classes for little ones, ages 6-8 years old (Children’s Theater 1); and older kids, ages 9-12 years old (Children’s Theater 2), children are put in a setting where they can comfortably express their artistic potential, nourish their creativity, and build their self-confidence in a way that is appropriate to their age. Younger kids will be immersed in the art of rhythmic movement, dance, songs, games, painting, puppetry, storytelling, and role-playing done in various creative methods. Older ones will get to experience artistic discovery through explorations of music, visual arts, poetry and story writing, storytelling, and drama improvisation.
CHILDREN’S THEATER 1 (6-8 years old): May 6- 8, 11- 15, 18- 23 (8:00 AM – 12:00 NN)

With sessions covering aspects of theater such as creative drama, sound and music, creative writing, body movement and dance, and visual arts—the workshops serve to challenge teens as they take their exploration of theater farther.
For the musically inclined youth, PETA offers its Creative Musical Theater class for children and teens. Creative Musical Theater for Kids, for ages 9-12 years old, will tap into the potential and musicality of children through activities rooted in experimentation and discovery. Creative Musical Theater for Teens aims to develop musicality, as well as the connections between body, music, and storytelling.
